One of my pet peeves about running multiple internet businesses is email maintenance of multiple accounts. I believed I was in heaven once i finally started using IMAP. With IMAP no matter which one of my “configured computers” I used I used to be seeing updated and synchronized email. Then 1 day it occurred to me that maintaining a local email client on several machines was great provided that I was around my computers. So in an attempt to simplify my communications and have it literally “follow me” no matter where I went and regardless of what computer I was on I turned to Gmail.
Now I manage 24 separate email accounts from a single gmail folders. In terms of the planet knows there’s no difference even return addresses are proper and unique to each email account. For those who have multiple email accounts you simply will not believe time saving aspect of this move.
You will find 4 simple steps towards the process.
#1 – Forward your email accounts in your Gmail account. Most webmail (and domain email) accounts have forwarding. If you use a host you will need to visit your Cpanel and set your email to forward to your Gmail account there. For those who have no idea how you can access your Cpanel call your host tech support.
#2 – Go to your Gmail account and visit Settings>Accounts and beneath the heading “When I get a message brought to among my addresses:” select “Reply from the same address the message was sent to” Once you’ve done that click “Add another e-mail address” fill out the name you need to appear on the email account and then the full e-mail address. then click “Next Step” Over the following screen select “Send Verification” then see your regular email client and look for the Gmail confirmation. Respond to the confirmation by clicking on the confirmation link.
At this point that specific e-mail address will always see your Gmail account and until you perform the two final steps you’ll just have a huge list of unorganized emails. These next two steps are in fact very cool and makes Gmail a really powerful universal email client.
#3 – Select “Edit Labels” and add a new label. In my case I created a label for my source-pro admin mail and i also used a quick title like SP – Admin. You need to develop a Label for each and every of the email addresses you’re forwarding to Gmail.
#4 – This method is critical and could possibly be the distinction between having an unorganized great deal of emails or perhaps a perfectly organized email system.
Click “Develop a Filter” and in the “To” box make the email address you would like organized. Then click “Following Step” and in the next screen select “Apply the label:” box, also, you’ll have to choose the label ynrtxk matches the e-mail address. Then click “Create Filter” and at this time you’re good to go. Every time Gmail receives a message addressed to that particular address it’s labeled and tracked. Set one your contact information up and you’ll see what I mean. the great part is that you may set Gmail to take care of as many email addresses as you wish.
Spam control – Hands down Gmail has got the best spam handling I’ve seen. it’s better than Outlook or Thunderbird. That one feature alone has reduced my “email time” considerably!
